Jerre Davidson’s kiln-formed glass work explores the landscape in figurative composition as well as themes in instinctive and expressive abstraction. Her early career in dance at the Scottish Ballet School in Edinburgh, Scotland instilled in her a love of rhythm and movement.
Like a dancer, lines move rhythmically through our landscape.

Her landscapes are created exclusively out of glass, using a variety of processes.  She shapes the glass trees and branches over a flame and layers these elements with small granules of coloured glass, also known are frit.  The work is arranged then fired to 1500 degrees Farenheight in an electric kiln.  The landscapes are composed of a number of layers and they are fired many times.

Jerre studied at various centers of excellence in glass education, including Pilchuck, WA; The studio of the Corning Museum of Glass, NY; and North Lands Creative Glass in Caithness, Scotland.  She has received a number of awards, including a first place award of excellence in sculpture at the Canadian Society of Artists Exhibition.

Her work has been exhibited in Korea, Scotland, USA and Canada.

Jerre works out of her studio near Elora, Southern Ontario
