Judy Jacques Art

Judy Jacques works with cotton rope to create unique and beautiful functional art vessels. Using a heavy duty sewing machine, Judy focuses on a process of coiling and stitching the rope into various shapes and sizes. She handcrafts various pieces, ranging from baskets, to trays, trivets and totes. Stemming from her love of nature, Judy consciously wild harvests different plants and flowers to mix up natural dyes which she uses to colour and tint her rope before shaping it with her machine. She also adds detail and colour to her work with acrylics, inks and coloured threads.
