kukucaju offers up a candy coloured world of childhood phantasms and absurd anthropomorphism.

Both progressive and regressive, sweet and soured, playful and peculiar, the kukucaju aesthetic fuses low tech art-making with the wide-eye naïvety of a child and the reluctant knowing of an adult. 

Each piece is made entirely by hand by artist Judy Anderson at kukucaju headquarters in Damascus, Ontario using latex, acrylic, vintage buttons, beads, and various odd bits on salvaged plywood, off cuts and finished with a clear lacquer.
