The photogram is a photographic technique, first discovered in the 19th century. Created by arranging objects directly onto light sensitive paper, before exposing to light in a darkroom environment. The print is then developed and fixed in photographic baths, before being hand washed and dried. This is a slow, hand made process, and there is no film negative to be able to reproduce copies of these images. Each original print is unique and made using real botanicals from Jo's property in Ontario.
